PPA Scotland Award win for Planet Ink

PRESS RELEASE: Friday, Nov 30, 2007

ScottishPower News was awarded the ‘Staff Magazine of the Year’ accolade at the Periodical Publishers Association awards dinner held in Edinburgh last night.

The magazine - produced by Planet Ink Ltd - was judged above entries from a host of companies including British Energy, RBS, Standard Life and Scottish & Newcastle.

The awards are designed to recognise excellence in magazine publishing and our client's publication secured this win against a number of well established publications following a complete redesign by Planet Ink Ltd.

Founding director Gerry Cassidy and SPN editor Kenny Craig collected the award on behalf of Planet Ink Ltd from host Carol Smillie at a glittering awards ceremony held at Our Dynamic Earth.

Founding director Shaun Milne said: "We are thrilled that our team has been recognised for their creative talents by such a prestigious panel of judges ahead of a very strong shortlist of established competitors.

"We are delighted to have helped deliver a product judged to be the best in its class to our clients ScottishPower, and hope the award reflects their strong commitment to editorial excellence.

"The fact that it is available in both printed and page-turn digital formats sets it apart from the norm, and ScottishPower should be congratulated on their forward thinking communications strategy."

He added: "We would also like to pass on our congratulations to the many other winners on the night, and to thank PPA Scotland for honouring us in this way.

"We take great pride in all our portfolios and hope that this tremendous achievement will alert other potential clients to the fantastic quality of work we provide."

In addition to their award, Planet Ink Ltd was also finalist in two other categories, Customer Magazine for Setanta Sports and Consumer Specialist Magazine with Planet Hearts.
