Ayr United FC have commissioned Planet Ink Ltd to produce an official club newsletter for the 'Honest Men' who want to enhance their communications strategy with supporters.

It follows the successful completion by Planet Ink of a special edition collector's programme to mark the club's Hall of Fame Awards last month.

The latest publication is scheduled for delivery early in the New Year.

Eco friendly digital Christmas cards launched by Planet Ink Ltd

CARBON PASSPORT - Web Redesign

Ethical offsetting experts Carbon Passport have now relaunched their website after commissioning Planet Ink Ltd to carry out a comprehensive redesign of the site.

They wanted an eye-catching, fresh look for their online presence and one that would lead to easier navigation for users keen to find out more about their services.

Planet Ink's creative director Derek Bryce took personal charge of the project and developed a clean, effective new look now implemented by Carbon Passport's original web creators NSDesign.

In addition, Planet Ink was also asked to provide a range of further designs for the company including their new Carbon Passport offset logo for use by associated businesses and other specialist marketing materials.

SETANTA SPORTS - Switch On in December

The December issue of Setanta Sport's award nominated 'Switch On' magazine has been completed ahead of schedule and is now available to customers of the UK's fastest growing sports channel.

For this edition of the page-turn digital title our team mirrored the festive TV ads currently being shown by the broadcaster to help reinforce the corporate theme running through the month.

Included in the content are details of Setanta Freeview boxes, the forthcoming Arsenal TV channel, and a run down on all the big match action from the Barclays Premier League, SPL, Blue Square Premier and all their channels.

Work has already begun on the next issue and a brand new look for the New Year.

PPA Scotland Award win for Planet Ink

ScottishPower News was awarded the ‘Staff Magazine of the Year’ accolade at the Periodical Publishers Association awards dinner held in Edinburgh last night.

The magazine - produced by Planet Ink Ltd - was judged above entries from a host of companies including British Energy, RBS, Standard Life and Scottish & Newcastle.

The awards are designed to recognise excellence in magazine publishing and our client's publication secured this win against a number of well established publications following a complete redesign by Planet Ink Ltd.

Founding director Gerry Cassidy and SPN editor Kenny Craig collected the award on behalf of Planet Ink Ltd from host Carol Smillie at a glittering awards ceremony held at Our Dynamic Earth.

Ayr United FC Hall of Fame


Planet Ink Limited are delighted to have completed its first project on behalf of the directors at Ayr United Football Club for the biggest event in the club's social calendar, the Hall of Fame awards.

Ayr Utd commissioned Planet Ink Ltd to produce a stylish commemorative magazine for the evening, reflecting the proud traditions of those being honoured, in a format that would become a collector's item for supporters.

The sell-out event, which included a message of support from Sir Alex Ferguson helped raise thousands of pounds for nominated charities including The Ayrshire Hospice and Alzheimer Scotland.

Such was the success of the event, the club has chosen to relocate next year's awards ceremony to the more spacious Princes Royal Suite at Ayr Racecourse on Friday, November 14, 2008.

ScottishPower News – Issue 13

The latest edition of ScottishPower News is complete and available in both digital and newspaper formats.

This issue details the massive investment in the company by new owners Iberdrola worth €24.2bn over the next three years and highlights its commitment as a major global player to renewable energy.

Much thought was put into an appropriate cover reflecting all the core areas ScottishPower are involved in during what is a historic time in the company's evolution.

ScottishPower News is now the main delivery vehicle for internal staff communications for ScottishPower and has been honoured by being named as a finalist in the PPA Scotland Scottish Magazine of the Year Awards, recognising it as among the best staff magazines in the country.

Appointment - CBD Associates




Planet Ink Ltd has appointed CBD Associates to help oversee their strategic business development and expansion plans for 2008 following their successful relocation to Glasgow.

CBDA Executive Associate Sean Connaughton will be lead advisor for the duration of the contract, focussing on areas of planning, finance and business development.

Connaughton, who is also a consultant to Business Gateway, holds a Diploma in Business Advice and Counselling and is an accredited associate of the Institute for Independent Business.

Broadcaster Setanta Sports continues its charge forward with this month’s digital magazine ‘Switch On’ which for the first time features video clips. The mini-movie shows their cult advert featuring Des Lynam seen on TV in recent weeks to promote their coverage of the Barclays Premier League, SPL and other key sports.

It is also being emailed out to its largest number of recipients this year thanks to a surge of interest in Setanta.

Planet Hearts Changing Distribution Frequency

Planet Hearts, the independent Hearts fans' newspaper, is changing the frequency of its distribution. It moves from a weekly only basis to targeting specific games and events to maximise circulation and draw greater advertising value. The title will also be accompanied by a new online shop and revamped website. Further changes are expected in the coming months to harness the potential benefits of the increased capacity at Hearts FC on completion of the club's new £51 million ground redevelopment at Tynecastle. The changes will also allow publishers Planet Ink Limited to develop a number of new sports related publications to be announced.

Planet Ink announce new city centre HQ in Glasgow

The directors of Planet Ink Limited are delighted to announce the opening of a new city centre HQ in Glasgow. As of Monday, August 20, 2007, our team is based at Suite 3.4 at the prestigious '111' Union Street building adjacent to the city's historic Glasgow Central railway station. It follows the successful conclusion of a deal between Planet Ink Limited and independent property firm Stelmain Limited and replaces our offices in Ayr. The new facility provides valuable space for potential growth ahead of ambitious expansion plans for 2008 and provides enhanced meeting rooms for client presentations.

Planet Ink Limited – new HQ

Planet Ink Limited is moving to a new city centre HQ in Glasgow. The new office opens for business on Monday, August 20. This is ahead of a major drive for business as part of expansion plans to be executed in the first quarter of 2008. The new HQ is sited in Union Street, between both Central and Queen Street railway stations and a short drive from the M8. It brings us closer to our main client base, making it easier to work with their corporate teams, and to help facilitate the expertise we provide. It also gives us greater scope to attract new business and press ahead with expansion in what is a fast-paced market as more and more firms switch on to the benefits of digital. The first issue of ScottishPower News designed and published by Planet Ink Ltd was delivered ahead of schedule and for the first time was available in both printed and digital formats. The dual format has allowed the company to reduce both costs in terms of print, postage and distribution, and as a consequence its carbon footprint, by eliminating the need to mail the product to its interests in the US.

Setanta Sports – Golf Magazine

A free 100 page full colour glossy Setanta Golf Magazine made its debut this month just three weeks after Planet Ink Ltd was commissioned to create the new launch. Our team oversaw the entire editorial process from start to finish, ahead of 40,000 copies being distributed free to golf fans at The Scottish Open at Loch Lomond and The Open at Carnoustie. The latest Setanta ‘Switch On’ digi-mag also hit deadline to help promote its sports channels, including golf, boxing and football in both Scotland and England.

Executives at Scotland’s fastest growing radio station – talk107 - have commissioned Planet Ink Ltd to produce a second digital marketing magazine for the company.
 
It follows the successful introduction of issue one which coincided with a surge in listener figures and increased advertising revenue for the station following its publication.

It will also increase in frequency to become a monthly publication. Planet Ink Limited are also project managing the distribution of the title across the UK and Europe.

Edinburgh based speech radio station have taken delivery of a specially designed folder from Planet Ink Limited as part of their aggressive marketing campaign. The colourful piece with gatefold cover includes an area to include a CD-Rom and lip to carry brochures and letters. This was the first commission from the station, and was delivered both on time and to budget.

Glory, Glory magazine – CIS Cup Final

Planet Ink Ltd produced a special souvenir magazine for Hibs supporters to mark the CIS Cup final at Hampden. The glossy full colour magazine featured interviews with manager John Collins and former legends from their team’s last cup final victory in the competition. It was on sale on approaches to the ground and specialist retailers with a cover price of £3.50.
